Immediate reactions:

- So glad that District 9 received a Best Picture nomination. This happened only because there are ten Best Pic nominees this year, and it really has no chance of winning, but it’s still nice to see it recognized.

- Also nice to see Up nominated for Best Picture in addition to Animated Film.

- Disappointed that Broken Embraces didn’t get a nod for Foreign Language Film.

- A little surprised that The Blind Side is nominated for Best Picture.

- Glad that the talented Bruno Delbonnel is being recognized for his work on Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

- Precious’s subtitle “Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire” is about to drive me crazy.

- Everything else seemed fairly predictable, but not disappointing. It’s been a great year for movies (if you saw the right ones).
